PDF to Markdown
Bring a PDF into your notes without carrying its fixed page layout along. Review the extracted Markdown before saving the version you need.

Your file is not uploaded. It is processed in this tab on your device.
PDF to Markdown
- Choose a PDF that contains selectable text. Narrow the page range if you only need one section.
- Generate the draft, then inspect the reading order and adjust the Markdown in the text box.
- Copy your changes or download an .md file for the application where you keep your notes.
A useful starting point for documentation
Suppose a project handover arrives as a PDF, but the team maintains its instructions in a GitHub repository. This converter gives you an editable text draft rather than another fixed-layout document. You can check the headings, remove irrelevant sections and save the material as a Markdown file.
The same approach works for notes in Obsidian. Notion can also accept Markdown through its own import workflow. There is no account connection here: you decide where the downloaded file goes, and importing it into another service is a separate step.
Extraction is not layout reconstruction
A PDF can store words in an order that differs from what a reader sees. Font sizes and text positions help identify some headings and paragraphs, but they do not reliably describe every column, footnote or table. Complex pages may need substantial editing. Table cells remain text; this version does not reconstruct Markdown tables or preserve images, equations and link targets.
Keep the draft under your control
Processing happens on your device, with no conversion upload. The preview is plain editable text, not a live HTML rendering of the PDF. Download and Copy both use your latest edits. Save before leaving the page because the tool does not keep a server-side copy for you.
Common questions
Will this read a scanned PDF?
Not by itself. This release extracts an existing text layer. Pages that are only images require OCR elsewhere first.
Can it remove running page headers?
There is an optional filter for similar lines repeated near page edges. It needs three or more selected pages and can make mistakes, so compare the result with the PDF.
Why does a heading occasionally become ordinary text?
Detection is based on relative font size. A document using one font size for everything provides little evidence of structure. Add the missing # markers in the draft.
